What we did
Laura and Ben's wild wedding was one of our most memorable wedding set ups, not least because the tipi company, Magnakata and the Bluemoon team had to build and decorate four tipis in the teeming rain. It rained solidly for three days and we tried our best to remain upbeat.
Certainly, the real trailing ivy foraged for decorating the tipi poles remained fresh and perky for Laura's big day! We brightened the interior of the tipis with our magnificent Orb chandeliers and sections of sparkly fairylights. The chill-out tent was furnished with our black sofas, fur throws, oriental cushions and coffee tables and created a warm ambience with amber coloured up-lighters.
There were many foreign guests and although there was no theme as such, Laura created an amusing potato seating plan whilst we decorated the tables and cake table with wooden birch tea-lights, log slices and jam jars full of wild flowers. Lo and behold on the day, the sun came out for church, the champagne reception and general mingling by the lake. Just as guests sat down for dinner the rain poured down and slid off the sides of the tipis away from everything that mattered and the revellers stayed warm and dry!
