What we did
Claire and Paul invited 300 guests to celebrate their two day wedding, held in an enormous marquee in the garden of their gorgeous old Georgian house. It was actually two marquees joined together by North Down Marquees, the smaller of the two hosting a long bar, cloakroom and loos. Ivory carpeted steps led guests down into the main marquee with its large and accommodating gloss white dance-floor and sea of thirty tables! The mission was for us to add colour, depth and interest to what might have been an aircraft hangar of ivory fabric. Deep purple sashes added immediate contrast to the white chair-covers and a mix of high and low crystal table centres with flowers avoided creating a horizontal line across the marquee. Purple/pink LED up-lighters illuminated the perimeter of the marquee and highlighted all the doorways and walkways.
We dressed entrances and added shimmering leading edges of gold pulled back with silk and crystal ivory tassels. Behind the stage, fairylights covered an entire wall and the reception marquee ceiling was decorously strung with fairylights and a matching chandelier. The loos were decked out with chrome coat rails and a series of beautiful candlelit chrome lanterns in varying heights. Dylan McBurney who loves photographing people, even children and animals, captured the love and all the craic on the day!
