Northfield Bible Tent, Newcastle
We had such a wonderful wedding day and Blue Moon transformed the old tent with style and elegance. We were very pleased.
What we did
Phil and Gemma approached us to decorate the most wonderful traditional pole marquee which was used annually for Summer Biblical meetings. It was to be pitched in a field at the foot of Slieve Donard and would provide a vast space that could easily host both their wedding ceremony and reception dinner. The couple's main concern was that the canvas was old and mildewed and hoped Blue Moon could freshen and enhance the tired interior for their wedding. No problem!
First, we created a dividing wall of fairylights to separate the two areas and set up the ceremony with beautiful Chivari chairs, to be moved later for dining. Five tall supporting wooden poles were dressed with great swathes of ivory muslin and entwined with ivy garlands from floor to ceiling. We hung wide panels of ivory muslin across the width of the marquee up into the apex and down again to mask most of the mildewed, but characterful canvas. The billowing panels created a soft, romantic ambience for the dining area which was lit by two huge, orb chandeliers. Each of the twenty tables was decorated with a tall silver candelabra, crowned with a floral ring and ivory tapered candles. Everything was perfect and ready for a delicious dinner served up by the kitchen and staff of the nearby Burrendale Hotel.
