What we did
At our first meeting, Kelly informed us she wanted a hot pink carpet throughout her marquee and we knew it would be one to remember! The hot pink was very striking and set off the ivory wall drapes beautifully, so, apart from adding a dozen sizzling pink cushions for ivory sofas, our job would be to compliment rather than compete with Kelly's fabulous colour choice. The reception area was an L-shaped, raised platform with Italian style white balustrade overlooking a sunken central area for dining, music and dancing. Antique gold chairs circled the tables while the table-centres were a combination of clear glass hurricane lamps and our elegant crystal candelabra. They weren't plain for long as Kelly's florist added exuberant wreaths of pink peonies to the lanterns and wired clusters of individual peonies in water filled vials to the clear stems of the candelabra. Along the dramatic glass front of the marquee hung curtains of strung crystals and strategically placed antiqued urns with formal boxwood topiary balls. It was a beautiful, Tuscan formal garden with a crazy pink carpet!
