Blue Moon were fantastic, as soon as I met with Rachael she understood exactly what I wanted.
I really wanted the "Outside Inside" feel to our marquee and we were both so pleased with what we got. The canopy above the dance floor was amazing and I loved the natural feel of the whole thing.
Blue Moon were brilliant from start to finish.
What we did
Annabel's venue was a magnificent North Down Marquee erected on the tennis court of her parents prestigious country house. However, Annabel who shuns the limelight and anything remotely shiny or showy preferred something natural and organic for her marquee. Her brief was that she wanted to feel like she was dancing in the woods and so we came up with a woodland canopy which was suspended over the dancefloor and extended the entire width of the marquee. It hung below a large section of fairylights in the ceiling with a third layer of trailing ivy, foliage and natural blossom woven through mesh. It was painstaking work but the final effect was out of this world and totally original.
The entrances were draped with full ivory drapes and pulled back with ivy trails, the table-centres were simple wicker lanterns topped with a pyramid of bamboo canes and trailing ivy. A large supporting pillar between the main marquee and the reception annex was camouflaged with an abundance of ivy and seasonal magnolia blossom. Finally, we installed the Bluemoon signature fairylit cobweb ceiling into the annex where official photographer Jake Samuels had also set up his marvellous photo booth. Both his formal and informal photographs are tremendous and it remains one of our favourite marquee transformations.
