Clandeboye Estate, Bangor
We had such a special day, everything was perfect....even the snow!
What we did
Jilly's wedding took place in Clandeboye Estate over the great snowy weekend at the beginning of December 2010. The roads were in chaos but we were determined to get our faithful Transit van loaded with Jilly's decorations to Clandeboye by hook or by crook. We worked through the night to drape the yellow and red painted walls of the Fraser Room with ivory drapes and fairylight the entire ivory tented ceiling for Jilly and Jonny's winter wedding ceremony. Chivari chairs and tall ivory pots filled with uplit white birch were carefully positioned to create a formal occasion with a magical wintery touch. In contrast, the foyer entrances were dressed with deep red velvet drapes and tied back with red berry and holly garlands.
We decorated one of Clandeboye's real 10ft Christmas trees with white and clear baubles to acknowledge both Christmas and Jilly's wedding day. In the magnificent Banqueting Hall, Jilly chose our medieval style wrought iron candlesticks with chunky ivory church candles and her florist dressed them with rich red roses and holly. The gorgeous Bradley Quinn took Jilly and Jonny's photographs on the day and captures both the warm and joyous atmosphere of the crowd inside while managing to catch some intimate moments of the newly married couple in the stillness of the snow outside.
